Here’s some basics to start you planning!

CHARTER A BOAT: You can charter one of our 40-seater boats, Saint Michael or Saint Magdalene

LUCS provides a qualified skipper and crew.

The cost for a 40-seater boat is £170 for the first hour and £90 for each subsequent hour. Alternatively for a chartered cruise to the aqueduct the cost will be £270, to the Falkirk Wheel £600 or to Park Bistro £330

Each boat has an:

  • enclosed and heated cabin
  • toilet & sink
  • basic kitchen facilities. (Catering options may be available, or bring a picnic.)

For the comfort and safety of all passengers, dogs are not permitted on board our boats. Exceptions  may be made in specific circumstances, such as for registered guide dogs or other assistance animals. Please contact us in advance to discuss any special requirements (e-mail bookings@lucs.org.uk).

SELF-DRIVE A BOAT: Explore the canal at your own pace, with your hand on the tiller, aboard Leamington.

Leamington can carry up to 12 people including your skipper.

Half day hire (weekdays ONLY) £150, Full day is £250 and Falkirk Wheel £350.

The hirer must read the https://www.lucs.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Leamington-
Information-for-Hirers-2.pdf
before booking and, if experienced boaters and wishing to
complete a return trip to the Falkirk Wheel, the https://www.lucs.org.uk/wp-
content/uploads/Leamington-Through-the-Falkirk-Wheel.pdf

One member of your party must be nominated as the skipper, at the start of the booking, a
LUCS volunteer will provide training which can take up to 30 minutes.

Leamington has an:

  • enclosed but unheated cabin
  • toilet & sink
  • no cooking facilities – so bring a picnic!
  • The skipper’s foredeck is open to the elements, so appropriate clothing is a must.

All self-drive hires are from the canal basin and boats must return to Linlithgow before dusk.
